Although Velociraptor can usually be found attacking Protoceratops and hadrosaurs, it has been known to kill a more surprising species - its own. Remains of one Velociraptor skull clearly show that it had been pierced by another Velociraptor claw. Did an argument get out of hand? Was it mating rivalry? Or does Velociraptor prey on its own kind, perhaps old or sick individuals? After all, a meal's a meal.
