Big crest

The most striking aspect of this creature is its huge crest. For a while, some palaeontologists thought it might be a snorkel, but since Parasaurolophus lives on land, this just doesn't add up. The horn is actually for calling out to other members of the herd. Interestingly, the male Parasaurolophus has a bigger crest than the female.
