Coprolites

Coprolites are fossil excrement of anything from a mighty dinosaur to a fish or worm. Fish and shark coprolites are of particular interest because they often preserve tiny scales and teeth that reveal what the predator ate and what lived in the area where it dined. Such teeth and scales sometimes represent fish never found as fossils elsewhere.
